The wire speed at my router is exactly 1/2 of what crappy speed my modem is showing on wire! I have two Dell Latitudes with the exact same build one connected to the modem hard wire and the other connected to the router hard wire. I had a netgear nighthawk R-8000 and recently replaced with TP-Link AC5400. What is really odd is that when I connect my router to the modem, it cuts my speed at the router by 50% everytime! I'm not sure what the explanation is (I have several candidate reasons, more than one may be true), but it a factory reset fixes a host of ills. You wouldn't think a newly installed gateway would need a factory reset, but in many cases you would be wrong. I hadn't done a factory reset, seeing as the installation was literally done yesterday.
